Last May, eight teenagers opened the nerdiest store in Gettysburg. As thanks for the overwhelming community support, Nerd Herd is moving to a larger location at 10 York Street! On May 7, 2017, Nerd Herd closed its doors on Baltimore Street to begin the move, which culminated with their grand re-opening on June 2, 2017.
With more room to play with, the Nerds plan to host an after school board game program in the fall for elementary and middle school aged students. There will be game nights offered year round featuring newly released games. The larger space allows for more interactive play for customers of all ages.
The new location is in a building that was formerly a bank and retains a vault which has been turned into the “Game Vault” housing hundreds of board game titles and allowing for up to 18 people to play games during the game nights. New features also include “Right Brain” and “Left Brain” rooms presenting projects and playthings oriented around creative and logical activities respectively. There are also hands on daily demos of games and products for customers to enjoy.
